Who I help
I am passionate about helping teens, young adults, and adults who struggle with thoughts that they are not good enough and the need to always be perfect. Women who feel depressed, anxious, and feel stuck in their lives.
I know the struggle of dealing with the need to always be perfect and not feeling good enough. With some support and hard work, I was able to learn ways to cope with these unhelpful feelings and feel better. I use my own experiences to help others learn how to embrace who they are and in turn, create a better life for themselves. I have seen my clients learn how to love themselves, keep healthy boundaries in their relationships, create balance in their lives, and learn how to deal with their sadness and constant worrying.
Education and Experience
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have been practicing therapy for over 8 years. I have worked in many outpatient settings, serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the Art Institute of Chicago in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology. I received my Master’s degree at the Art Institute of Chicago in Counseling and Art Therapy.
As you can see in my education major, I have a background in making art. Painting is one of my passions and is something that I use to help me to deal with stress and to relax outside of work. I love to utilize the creativity in my clients to help them feel better. I encourage my clients (if they are willing and interested) to try something new to harness their creativity. It can be writing, drawing, singing, or even trying a new recipe. For more information, please see the art therapy tab under services.
